SEAD: A Vision for Deploying Smart Cooling Technology

Event Information

Cooling is a priority for the climate agenda, and application of smart technology promises to make affordable cooling appliances available to more people while enabling the demand flexibility essential to accelerating energy transitions.

After a keynote from Mary Burce Warlick, Deputy Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, manufacturers and governments will discuss the current state of technology and ambitions for the future of smart air conditioners. They will present current and potential policy approaches that ensure consumer access to affordable smart cooling appliances that have essential interoperability and demand flexibility functions. The Chair of the Energy Efficiency Hub, Tudor Constantinescu, will close with a summary of next steps.

This session will be held in person at the Clean Energy Ministerial Senior Officials’ Meeting in Seoul, Korea. Participants need to be registered for the Senior Officials’ Meeting to attend.
