Opening remarks were given by Melanie Slade, Senior Programme Manager at the International Energy Agency. An introduction to the Ladder Approach was provided by Clara Camarasa, Energy Efficiency Analyst, International Energy Agency, and featured presentations on regional perspectives from the European Commission, People’s Republic of China, the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency based in Namibia, and the Collaborative Labeling and Appliance Standards Program. Following the panel discussion, Melanie Slade provided closing remarks.
The SEAD (Super Efficient Equipment and Appliances Deployment) initiative promotes the manufacture and sale of energy-efficient appliances, lighting, and equipment worldwide while fostering international collaboration to reduce energy use, bills and emissions. SEAD is a Task Group of the Hub and concurrently an initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial.
