Tripling Investments to Double Energy Efficiency by 2030

Event Information

This high-level roundtable brought together policy makers from the Clean Energy Ministerial and G20 countries, representatives of the SEAD Task Group, Collaborative Labelling and Appliance Standards Program (CLASP), and business leaders from the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council.

Participants discussed actions needed to mobilise financing and investment to achieve the COP28 doubling energy efficiency goal, with a deep dive into equipment and appliances, which account for 40% of global electricity demand. The session built on SEADs, CLASPs, IEA, and the World Economic Forum’s existing work on creating conditions to mobilize private sector action.

Speakers from the Brazil, CLASP, Energy Efficiency Hub, the IEA, and the private sector featured case studies of how programs and financial incentives have accelerated the uptake of highly efficient appliances.
